The Moods Building at mail de la Petite Espagne in Saint-Denis is designated as the SGP's new head offices.

2010

3 June – The Grand Paris Act is passed. It creates a public establishment called Société du Grand Paris to build and finance the new metro.

2011

26 January – The French government and the Île-de-France Region merge their transit projects and sign an agreement that forms the Grand Paris Express.

Excavation at Aulnay

2012

20 March – The Grand Paris Express breaks ground at Aulnay-sous-Bois. Several thousand geotechnical probes will be required to accurately analyse the type of soil the metro will run through.

Participation in the COP 21

2015

19 November – Société du Grand Paris attends the COP21 to introduce its role and unveil its environmental commitments while building and operating the new metro.

Progress of the civil engineering works at Fort d'Issy-Vanves-Clamart

2016

June – One year after preliminary work begins, the first civil engineering works for the Grand Paris Express start at the future site of the Fort d’Issy-Vanves-Clamart station.

2017

30 March – Line 18 is designated a public good along with the entire Grand Paris Express system.

3 February 2018: The first Grand Paris Express tunnelling machine is launched and christened in Champigny-sur-Marne

2018

6 February – Underground works begin. To mark the event, thousands of people come to see the first Grand Paris Express tunnelling machine in Champigny-sur-Marne.
 

Families tour the Fabrique du métro

15 September – The Fabrique du métro holds its first public open house. Over a thousand people visit this unique space where life-size testing is done to design the new metro.

18 December – The Grand Paris Express's first ‘Tandems’ are unveiled. The group of artists and architects will be creating an urban art collection for the new metro's stations unlike any other in the world.

Puits du Canal worksite

2019

14 April – The first load of rubble is hauled away by barge straight from a worksite in Aubervilliers. Over 15% of the earth excavated for the Grand Paris Express is transported by river and rail.

A media outlet creates an audio slideshow about the neighbourhood around the La Courneuve Six-Routes station. Areas surrounding the future station.

9 May – The La Courneuve Six-Route hub project is approved, the first in a long series. Each Grand Paris Express station is an opportunity to redesign public spaces and develop surrounding modes of transport.

The first rails are installed at the Noisy-Champs station sidings

2020

29 October – The first Grand Paris Express tracks are lain at the Noisy-Champs station sidings.

Development project at Maubuisson Forest

2021

November – Société du Grand Paris begins planting trees at La Plaine de Pierrelaye-Bessancourt to offset the impacts of construction. The forest located 30 km outside Paris is 50% larger than the Bois de Boulogne.

The Valenciennes railway testing centre: test tracks for the GPE

November – Maiden voyage of the test train for the rolling stock that will run on Lines 15, 16, and 17.

A trip into the Ellen tunnel boring machine

December – The Aby, Aicha, Dieneba and Marina tunnelling machines finish boring. A total of no fewer than eight tunnelling machines took shifts digging the 37 km of Line 15 Sud.

Installation of the first ultra low carbon segment in Palaiseau

2022

April – The first ultra-low-carbon concrete voussoirs are installed and tested on Line 18. Société du Grand Paris spearheaded this innovation to reduce CO2 emissions during construction.

Deputy minister Clément Beaune charged with transport tours the Saint-Denis - Pleyel station

October - Line 14's tracks are completed at Saint-Denis Pleyel. Less than two years before its commissioning and the start of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Line 14 is slowly being extended northward.

6 December - Public consultation hearings begin for the Thiais-Orly real estate development project. The joint development programme will fulfil Société du Grand Paris's urban, environmental, and social commitments.
